Winter woes? Yoga can help!

Exam season is upon us. Time is limited and stress levels are at their peaks. The days are darkening and the temperature is dropping to below zero, and sometimes life can feel impossible.

But Ottawa students shouldn’t give in to the madness that is winter exam season.

One of the best ways to stay in shape, keep busy indoors and help your mind be in a positive and stress-free place, is to do yoga.
Unlike other forms of exercise, yoga can be done anywhere. Not only that, but anyone can take it up. It doesn’t matter how old, how flexible or how strong you are. Yoga doesn’t discriminate anybody.

Vanessa Tran, yoga instructor and owner of PranaQuests, says there is no better time than now to start making yoga a part of your daily routine.

“Yoga can open up space in your mind so you can absorb new information, which is great when you’re trying to study for an exam,” she says. “When you are stressed out and super busy, that’s the time where yoga is the most important.”

She gives us the scoop on the top five benefits yoga provides for everyone, including students.
