Sons of Anarchy stars Kim Coates and Tommy Flannagan highlighted this year’s Ottawa International Motorcycle show on Feb 1.
As television personalities “Chibs” and “Tig,” Flannagan and Coates drew hundreds of fans to the event put on by Rider’s Plus Insurance.
The pair, who were impossible for Glue reporters to reach for comment, were signing autographs and having pictures done for a staggering $20 apiece. That didn’t stop the unbelievable swarms of the hit drama’s die-hard fans from waiting in crowded lines for hours, waiting for a single moment with the stars.
Self-proclaimed super fan Darren Rief was sure to secure his spot early, decked out in his SOA gear complete with a leather vest set up like that of Charlie Hunnam’s character, Jax.
“As soon as I heard they would be here I bought the tickets,” said Rief.
He even brought the top of a table which had been engraved with the SOA logo, just like the iconic redwood table from the show. It was made as a housewarming gift by a friend of Rief’s and is signed by both stars.
“It was perfect for the man cave and now, even more so,” said Rief.
Following the three-hour signing session, the actors visited the various booths set up by motorcycle clubs, enthusiasts and distributors. Fans who paid the additional cost of $125 were invited to join the stars for a meet and greet dinner.
President and owner of Rider’s Plus Insurance Mike Babineau was thrilled with the turnout.
“I don’t know if they’re here for us, the insurance company, or the Sons of Anarchy,” said Babineau.
“Probably the Sons of Anarchy.”
