Glue’s newest staff member

Hi, my name is Charlie Senack, and I’ve been a part of the Glue team as an intern for the last few months. I’ll be learning and contributing to the magazine until late January.

My goal is to get young adults interested in topics I’m passionate about including news and politics. Here’s a sample of a story I’ve done so far about Ruby Abdullayeva, a high school student from Ridgemont High School who helped a fellow track and field athlete.

When I’m not writing for community newspapers or attending my last year of high school at St Pius X, you can find me walking the along the canal or attending events in your community. I enjoy getting to know people’s stories, and learning about the latest news to help you get through your day.

I feel I can bring an unbiased and youthful approach to local stories, and bring a voice to important issues. My passion for journalism came after a trip to the former CTV studios on Merivale Road in 2009. I’ve always been someone who is curious about what’s going on around the city.

Since then I have been eager to get involved in the field, and have had writing published in the Barrhaven Independent, Ottawa Business Journal, Kitchissippi Times and Ottawa Start.
